Reliquary

Reliquary is a collage zine on relics and their display. It features the relics of three religious figures: the incorruptible severed head of St. Catherine of Siena (at the Basilica of San Domenico), the Holy Nails that held Jesus to the cross (now housed in many locations, including the Trier Cathedral), and the tongue and jaw of St. Anthony of Padua (at the Italian basilica named for him). The zine reflects on the spiritual value of relics, their veracity as historical artifacts, and the aesthetics of Catholicism.

The zine is made from a single sheet of black paper with paper-covered recycled cardboard covers. It was traditionally collaged and decorated with Posca markers in gold, silver, green, blue, and red. The format capitalizes on the folding pattern of a single-sheet zine to create recessed images and a hidden panel with a movable "door."

Three copies were produced.
